NETWORKS & AFFILIATIONS

GDCA

School for Life operates under Ghana Developing Communities Association (GDCA) our mother organization and works closely with the Government of Ghana through the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Ministry of Education (MoE) as a partner in assuring quality education for all.  At a District Level, School for Life works with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies, as well as traditional authorities and community leaders to ensure programs are run in partnership with communities

COMPLEMENTARY BASIC EDUCATION (CBE) ALLIANCE

School for Life is the lead organisation the Complementary Basic Education (CBE) Alliance, a nationwide association of seventy five organisations and individuals founded in November 2010 and aimed at advocating for and partnering with the Government of Ghana (GoG) to Complementary Basic Education Policy.  This policy would see the commitment of resources to support the nationwide implementation of CBE models including School for Life CBE Programme and the IBIS led Wing school model.

Identity Statement

The Complementary Basic Education (CBE) Alliance is concerned with ensuring that all out of school children are enrolled in school and enjoy their right to quality basic education.

​

Vision

A literate society where all school age children enjoy their right to quality basic education, and ultimately contribute to the betterment of Ghana.

​

Mission

We are the mouthpiece of out of school children whose right to quality basic education is under threat; working in collaboration with like-minded agencies-state and non-state- we exist to ensure the full implementation of the CBE policy, ensuring that all school age children, irrespective of their geographical location or social circumstance, enjoy their right to quality basic education.

 

Membership

The CBE Alliance meets monthly to coordinate advocacy and capacity building across the network.  Organisations seeking to join the CBE Alliance should contact Fuseini Abdul Rahim at arahim@schoolforlifegh.org.

NORTHERN NETWORK FOR EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT

The Northern Network for Education Development is a registered Civil Society initiative in collaboration with the Regional Directorates of Education and Houses of Chiefs. The network came together to address challenges to educational development and to ensure that the Education For All (EFA) commitments are fulfilled in the three northern Regions of Ghana.

NNED seeks to harmonise and harness the collective efforts of all people with interest in Northern Ghana to mobilise their energy and resources to address challenges to education development in these regions.

​

SfL is an active member of NNED and participates in the activities of the network. The network provides an opportunity further strengthen SfL work in education and to link up with other stakeholders in the sector.

GHANA NATIONAL EDUCATION CAMPAIGN COALITION (GNECC)

The Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) is a network of civil society organisations, professional associations, educational and research institutions, and others interested in promoting quality basic education for all.

 

Formed in 1999, the coalition has steadily grown over the years with a current membership of over 100 organizations. GNECC ascribes to the idea of education as a fundamental human right and the key to breaking the cycle of poverty.

 

With the Northern Network for Education Development (NNED), GNECC’s partner in Northern Ghana, the Coalition aims to achieve free and universal quality basic education. Since its inception, GNECC has been in the forefront of the campaign for the attainment of Education for All (EFA) Goals in Ghana.

CSOs PLATFORM ON SDG4

The Ghana Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) Platform on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was established in October 2015 to ensure more coordinated civil society efforts in achieving the SDGs in Ghana. The Platform was institutionalized in May, 2016

 

The vision of the Platform is to serve as a coordinating Platform for Civil Society Organizations in Ghana in pursuit of achieving SDG 4 by 2030.
